In 1993 3 rd Davyhulme held it’s first ‘valved instrument rehearsal’ and the band now fields a wind band that includes, brass, woodwind, percussion and tuned percussion.

Over the years the bands musical repertoire has included the classics, film and television themes, the latest pop music, folk songs and traditional marches. The band continues to train and encourage youngsters to enjoy the playing of music on the move. In 2002 the band was nominated as a ‘Beacon Band’ by the British Federation of Youth Marching Band Organisations, in recognition of the bands contribution to the world of marching bands

The band continues to go from strength to strength; in 2004 the band was selected to play at Windsor Castle for the National St Georges Day Parade, the highest honour that can be bestowed on a Scout & Guide band by the Scout Association. In the same year they also competed in the WAMSB World Championships in Bournemouth, where Drum Major, Julie Wilson, was crowned World Champion.
